Get Your Geek On!

Art for art's sake not heavy enough for you? Catch what's left of the World Science Festival Saturday and Sunday around New York venues, including campus sites at New York University and New School University.  The festival's creators hit science from all angles, both grownup and kid-friendly. Art lovers can explore the science side of sound, light, color and the things that inspire us - the skies, oceans and plants - through discussions that push the boundaries of what we know today.

Most events require tickets, but most of the adult talks are already sold out (though some rush tickets may be available right before start time). But some panels are available via live broadcast right on your computer - or rebroadcast for those of us who can only pay attention after Junior's sleeping tight.

The accompanying World Science Street Fair on Sunday will be held around Washington Square Park. Exhibits on subjects including the environment, animals, nature, robotics, math and learning and plenty more promise to be instructive and fun at the same time.

When: June 5 & 6 - Street fair is June 6 10AM-6PM
Where: Around Manhattan - Street Fair is in Washington Square Park
