People reading this might be surprised that Kings County has a patch of green big enough to hold an actual fair. Well, we do. It's out at Aviator Arena at Floyd Bennett Field, and it's just like the county fairs I remember growing up in just-outside-suburban Virginia. Fairways, cotton candy, rides, games, and a small zoo (alligators, panthers and a baby kangaroo) to check out.
The fair is open through this weekend from 5-11PM Wednesday and Thursday, 5PM-1AM Friday, 12 Noon - Midnight Saturday and 12 Noon - 11 PM Sunday.
Admission is $7 with children under 3 feet getting in free. Parking is free - not something you hear often in the 5 boroughs!
