A-porkalypse Now!

The Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival visits New York in a one-day, two-session pig celebration featuring local and visiting BBQ pitmasters. Come hungry!

Tickets are available as of today but in very limited quantities, so pick your session (both-session tickets are sold out) and get your tickets.

In addition to the main attraction, live Bluegrass Music and cigar-sampling (in a separate heated tent) are also promised. For true afficionados (and do-it-yourselfers), seminars from brewers, distillers and Mixologists are also on the schedule.

When: January 26, 2013 12-4PM (Session I) and 5:30-8:30 PM (Session II)
Where: 608 West 28th STreet (La.Venue/The Tunnel)
Website: http://www.beerandbourbon.com/new-york/show-info

As if you needed a reason to drink, here's a reason to drink some great brews instead of your usual swill. If you hadn't seen any craft beer yet, here's your chance. Get out there to a tasting. It's not cheap but if you love beer, it's worth it.

When: Through October 3, 2010
Where: Throughout New York City

Buy Tickets Now: NYC Brewfest is June 19

I can't believe I've missed out on this before. Brewfest is being held for a fourth consecutive year out on Governor's Island June 19 from 3:30-8PM. The last three sold out according to the website, so don't get left out.

This festival is dedicated to craft beer (and cider) tasting and brewing, but there will be music and food as well as the chance to check out Governor's Island (I still haven't). And there will be seminars about brewing - yes you can make your own beer at home! Tickets are hardly free ($55 for the basic tasting pass), but there is a $25 music lover pass for the non-beer drinkers among us (that would include myself). No one under 21 will be admitted, so this is a situation where you get a sitter (who is probably under 21 too, so no conflict of interest there!).
